After covering the state for 12 years, she became a familiar face to Arizona viewers. in addition, she began her journalism career as an anchor and reporter in Yuma, where she covered stories across international and state lines. 

In 2013, she moved to Phoenix where she joined ABC15. Mornings have been in Allison’s blood for much of her career. Rodriguez was the weekend morning anchor when she first arrived in Phoenix and later reported and anchored weekdays on ABC15 Mornings. 

She was born and raised in Chicago with her three siblings. She attended and graduated from Columbia College Chicago, majoring in Journalism. While the Windy City may be her hometown, she and her husband now consider the Valley home.

 When she moved to the Bay Area, she took a short break from the sun in 2019. While reporting and anchoring there, she covered some of the biggest stories of that time, including the PG&E power shut-offs and wildfires.

 Rodriguez returned to Arizona to resume covering communities up and down our state in early 2020, from the Navajo Nation to the Mexico border. She is deeply connected to the people of Arizona and is excited to share their stories on 12News.

In March 2022, she rejoined the team and began covering major events in Arizona including the spread of the coronavirus pandemic along the southern border and two visits from U.S. President Donald Trump.

She made a comeback after spending time in the Bay Area, reporting and anchoring at KTVU Fox 2 in Oakland, California. While there, she covered crucial news assignments including PG&E’s widespread power shut-offs, devastating wildfires, the 49ers Super Bowl run, and the homeless and housing crisis.

Before that she spent six years with ABC15 News, initially joining the team in September 2013. At that moment she reported on some of Arizona’s biggest stories including massive monsoon storms, the death of longtime Senator John McCain, the Red for Ed marches, Super Bowl XLIX, and much more.

In addition, she also spent two years at KYMA down in Yuma, AZ anchoring and producing the weekday primetime newscasts. She anchored huge headlines including the Jodi Arias verdict and Yarnell Hill Fire deaths. Allison has been able to cover a wide range of stories that crossed state and international lines in both English and Spanish for being close to the California and Mexico borders.
