Asher Angel Career
Angel made his debut in the 2008 film Jolene and initially pursued a career in theater productions. At the age of 7, he successfully auditioned for the musical Oliver! at Desert Stages Theatre, marking the beginning of his acting journey. His parents supported his passion, and after participating in numerous local shows, he earned the opportunity to go to Los Angeles. Following through on his commitment, Angel performed in various plays such as The Little Mermaid, Seussical, Mary Poppins, and Into the Woods at the Desert Stages Theatre in Scottsdale.
Keeping her promise, Angel’s mother took him to Los Angeles, where, at the age of 12, he secured the role of Jonah Beck in the Disney Channel series Andi Mack. The entire family relocated to Utah to accommodate the filming of the show. In April 2019, Angel took on the lead role of Billy Batson in the film adaptation of DC Comics’ Shazam!, alongside Zachary Levi. The movie, part of the DC Extended Universe, received positive reviews. Angel also ventured into music, releasing his debut single “One Thought Away” featuring Wiz Khalifa in 2019. He reprised his role as Billy Batson in Shazam! Fury of the Gods, released on March 17, 2023. In February 2022, Angel joined the cast of Hulu’s Darby and the Dead. Subsequently, in May 2023, it was announced that he had been cast in the thriller Lazareth and the teen romance 99 Days.
