Prior to moving to Raleigh, She served as the morning anchor/reporter at WTVQ (Lexington, KY) and then co-anchored the 6/11 pm shows at WSLS-TV (Roanoke, Virginia). She is very active in the community, participating every year with talented young, local golfers in the “Jimmy V Jr Celebrity Golf Classic,” raising money for pediatric cancer research. This year, she participated in various fundraising events benefiting groups ranging from the MDA, American Cancer Society, and Building Together Ministries.

Some of her most memorable moments are traveling to New York City with a Durham breast cancer survivor to meet “Good Morning America’s” Robin Roberts. She also met a miracle family; a young mother with cystic fibrosis who survived giving birth and a double-lung transplant. In addition, she also had the honor of telling a soldier’s story; local veterans in the home building industry built a house for free for a triple amputee Iraq war soldier and his wife.

She was honored by the Nashville Academy of Television Arts and Sciences with an Emmy for the best feature story for “Homeless Singers;” a piece about three homeless men in Raleigh with a desire to be gospel singers in 2008. She also received an Emmy nomination for a second feature “Barbara Gibbs’ Little Valentine,” a story about a young boy in Spring Lake, NC, who touched her heart on Valentine’s Day.

During her free time, she enjoys college football (WAR EAGLE), traveling, and going home to be with family and friends. She lives in Raleigh with her Maltese, Sophie.
