He is a versatile weather journalist who has covered some of the most significant weather events in recent years, both in the Ohio Valley and Mid-Atlantic. From covering Hurricane Sandy and its flooding rainfall and high winds on the Eastern Seaboard in 2012 to the EF-4 Tornado in Dayton/Trotwood, OH in 2019, he brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to his field.
In addition to his weather expertise, he has also reported on important educational stories, lending his voice to the statewide teachers’ strike in West Virginia in 2017. He was also recognized by the National Weather Association in December 2018 with their Broadcasters Seal of Approval.
Schuerman has served on the Steering Committee for the Human Rights Campaign-Cincinnati Chapter as well as the Student Association, Inc. and Alumni Association Boards of Directors at California University of Pennsylvania.
Currently, Schuerman serves on the Diversity Committee and the Social Media Committee as well as a member of the National Weather Association, a member of the American Meteorological Society, and a member of the National Association of Lesbian and Gay Journalists Association in addition to the National Weather Association.
