She moved to Nashville to join her husband, David Fluellen Jr., while he was playing for the Tennessee Titans in 2018. She landed a job at WSMV-TV as a reporter and anchor. While anchoring one weekend morning, a mass shooting took place at a Waffle House. The devastating national story rocked the community and Desiree covered it extensively for her station. It is certainly something she will never forget.
