Cashmere played a crucial role in reporting on the tumultuous hurricane seasons of 2004 and 2005 that battered South Florida. Amid these events, he encountered one of the most personal stories of his career when he returned home to assist his family in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. He also took on the role of the first local news anchor to be on the ground in Marsh Harbour, on Great Abaco Island, following Hurricane Dorian’s destructive impact on the city in 2019.
