Krebs served as the morning anchor for News 4 at the NBC-owned station, WRC-TV, situated in Washington, D.C. Besides his morning news duties, Krebs was also known for producing special reports on cold cases for the “Today” show. He had been co-hosting the morning news alongside Barbara Harrison since 1994. After completing law school, Krebs joined the United States Navy and served as an Assistant Public Affairs officer on the aircraft carrier, U.S.S. John F. Kennedy, known as “Big John.”

Krebs assumed the role of president for the Washington-Baltimore local of the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists in 1997. Additionally, in 2000, he was inducted into the Silver Circle of the Washington Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences. His involvement extended to the National Board of the Union, where he served as the Chair of the National Broadcast Steering Committee.
