Before that, Samuels served as a chief correspondent on Five News and an occasional presenter. He was a reporter for Sky News and before that, a journalist with the BBC, where he presented and reported for BBC Look East and BBC Spotlight. He started his broadcasting career as a BBC trainee at BBC Radio Cornwall.
