Before joining WBZ-TV, MacLeod served at CBS affiliate WKMG-TV in Orlando, Florida, where he co-anchored the station’s morning program and the top-rated noon news for three years. Before working in Orlando, he was co-anchor and reporter for the #1 rated noon news at WAGA-TV (CBS/FOX) in Atlanta, Georgia. In addition, he was a news anchor and interim co-host of “Good Day Atlanta,” the station’s most-watched morning program. He also worked as a general assignment reporter for the station from 1990 to 1996.
MacLeod’s reporting career includes assignments at WXIA-TV (NBC) in Atlanta and WLEX-TV (NBC) in Lexington, Kentucky. Throughout his broadcasting career, he has received numerous honors including nine Southern Regional Emmy Awards for spot news, series, general feature, news writing, and outstanding field reporting. On top of that, he received 19 additional Emmy nominations in virtually every reporting category.

CBS4 -WBZ-TV (channel 4) is a television station in Boston, Massachusetts, United States. It airs programming from the CBS network. The station is owned and operated by the network’s CBS News and Stations division alongside MyNetworkTV affiliate WSBK-TV. Both stations share studios on Soldiers Field Road in the Boston Allston–Brighton section. CBS4 -WBZ-TV’s transmitter is located on Cedar Street in Needham, Massachusetts, on a tower site that was formerly owned by CBS and is now owned by American Tower Corporation.
Notably, CBS4 -WBZ-TV was a pioneer in Boston television. The station started live broadcasts of Boston’s two Major League Baseball teams, the Red Sox and the Braves, broadcasts that at first were split with WNAC-TV in 1948. Additionally, it was the first Boston station to have daily newscasts, starting with the station’s first night on the air. On October 12, 1957, the station broadcast a half-hour special program on Sputnik 1, featuring a motion picture of the final stage of its rocket crossing the pre-dawn sky of Baltimore, shot by sister station WJZ-TV.
CBS4 -WBZ-TV presently broadcasts 34 hours, and 35 minutes of locally produced newscasts each week, with 5 hours, 5 minutes each weekday; 4 hours, 5 minutes on Saturdays; and 5 hours, 5 minutes on Sundays. The station operates a Bell LongRanger 206LIV helicopter for newsgathering called “Sky Eye”. On top of that, its main studios, the station operates two other news bureaus. The “Worcester Bureau” is located in the Worcester Plaza office tower at 440–446 Main Street in that city. The “New Hampshire Bureau” is located on Elm Street in Manchester.
