Bokamper was one of the best-known members of the world-champion Miami Dolphins in the mid-1970s and 1980s. A linebacker, he joined the CBS4 Sports team as a first-round draft choice in 1976. Notably, he went on to play in two Pro Bowls in 1980 and 1981 as well as a starting defensive end for Super Bowls XVII (’82) and XIX (’84). Also, he received an Outstanding Linebacker Award in 1981.

Since Bokamper retired from the game, he has pursued a successful career in broadcasting. From 1992 – 1996, he was the host of “Sports Talk 610” on WIOD, during which time he also hosted the Dolphins’ pre-game and post-game shows. Additionally, he was a football analyst for Channel 33’s “Sunday Night Sports Rap” from 1993 – 1996. Since 1996, he has hosted “Sports Talk” on 560 WQAM. He has worked with News4 as a football analyst since last year.

The station is owned and operated by the network’s CBS News and Stations division alongside MyNetworkTV affiliate WBFS-TV (channel 33). The station first signed on the air on September 20, 1967, as WCIX-TV, broadcasting on VHF channel 6. Initially, the station was owned by the locally-based Coral Television Corporation. General Cinema Corporation acquired a controlling interest in Coral Television and WCIX in August 1972.
