Dr. Pamela Ling and Judd Winick met in 1994 after they were chosen to be among seven roommates on “Real World: San Francisco.” After Real World, Pam and Judd’s relationship moved beyond friendship.
Ling and Winick began dating in 1995 and moved in together. They announced their relationship at a Real World Reunion Special which brought together the casts of the first four seasons. She was a medical student, and he was an aspiring cartoonist.
They dated for five years before Judd proposed to Pam with a cartoon he made for the occasion, and which he presented to her while wearing a gorilla suit. The cartoon presented Pam with two choices to answer his proposal. After she said yes, he summoned three singing Elvis Presley impersonators.
Winick and Ling married in a civil ceremony on August 26, 2001. They celebrated their 15th wedding anniversary on the summer of the year 2016. The show’s producers had hoped that romance would blossom on air between the two.

While offset, Dr. Ling and Judd bonded over their mutual geekiness. “She’s kind of shockingly nerdy,” he said. The Real World: SF alumni fell in love off-camera after meeting on the third season of the hit MTV series.
Early on, they were plunged into “Star Wars” films and up to date, Judd said, “We still love and get obsessive about things together.” Their shared interests include goofy earworm videos by Parry Gripp, musicals, and television shows like “Game of Thrones” and “Project Runway.”
They recognize these common interests as one of the ways they have managed to keep their relationship fresh and exciting. The happy couple discussed their relationship with The New York Times in an article published that same year. They reside in San Francisco with their two children.
