Her stories examined the impact of trade between Vietnam, the Pacific Northwest, and Vancouver British Columbia. During her tenure at WJAR-TV from 1992 to 1994, Richardson was involved in the station’s “Tuesday’s Child” segments and appeared on the soap opera “Another World” in a dancing scene for a behind-the-scenes story about life as a soap star.

Previously, Boston Magazine named her one of “The 50 Most Intriguing Women in Boston.” Richardson graced the cover of Northeastern University Alumni Magazine and was the first honoree of the University’s “Medallion Award.” It is an award that recognizes alumni committed to the community while also making great professional strides. Rhondella remains an active member of the University’s Board.
In addition, Richardson has emceed the tribute day honoring tennis commentator Bud Collins at the Sportsmen’s Tennis Club, before his passing, in an effort to continuously serve the community on and off camera. She has emceed Boston’s annual “Duckling Day” Mother’s Day festivities and parade, sponsored by the Friends of the Public Garden and the Boston Parks & Recreation Department for over a decade.
