She originates from South Texan, hailing from Corpus Christi. She came to San Antonio from Sacramento, California where she covered snow, flooding, and forest fires as a breaking news and morning reporter for FOX40. Acosta is thrilled to be back in South Texas and feels right at home in San Antonio. Being so close to her family in Corpus Christi is a bonus.

She covered local and entertainment news on a multi-media platform, creating her position and brand for a niche on local happenings.
In addition, her Caller-Entertainment video segments and blog landed her a spot on Clear Channels C101 Rocks and KIII-3News weekly. In 2013 she started working as a morning reporter for KIII-3News until 2016, when she took her morning reporter position in Sacramento.

During her high school years, she was actively involved in sports, particularly tennis, cross country, and track events. However, her passion for journalism sparked when she became the editor-in-chief of the yearbook. In 2006, she graduated from King High School and went on to play tennis for the SMU Women’s Tennis team. She was also a member of the Chi-Omega sorority while in college. Acosta received training from several institutions such as Corpus Christi Caller-Times, Dallas Morning News, NBC-DFW, and the Texas Tribune, both during and after college.
She considers herself a “retired” tennis player but still plays occasionally for fun and participates in races such as half-marathons. Acosta is an avid animal lover and is devoted to her rescue dog, Scooby.
