Sun joined Team 12 from KOAT in Albuquerque, where she was the weekend morning weather anchor and reporter and therefore, she is no stranger to the Southwest. The readers of New Mexico’s largest newspaper, the Albuquerque Journal, chose Stella as 2022’s best reporter.
Previously, she served at KTMF in Missoula, Montana. That’s where she got her start reporting and weather forecasting. During her tenure in Missoula, Sun enrolled in meteorology classes through Mississippi State University. She finished her meteorology certification in December 2023.

She double majored in broadcast news and global politics and received a minor in global studies. She may live in Sun Devil territory but you’ll see her cheering for the Cougs when they play ASU or UA.
Sun was raised in the greater Seattle area – and yes, she’s a Seahawks fan. She eventually chased the sunshine and warm weather to the desert. She has family in Maricopa County, Los Angeles, and Seattle. She’s excited to live closer to the people she loves most.
During her free time, she enjoys eating out, traveling, and spending too many hours binging her favorite TV shows. She is excited to explore all the wonders of Arizona.
